Biography
Ms. Towhey joined the District Attorney's Office in 2013. She attended law school in Charlotte, North Carolina where served as an extern for the Person’s Unit at the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office. In 2011, Ms. Towhey served as a first year legal intern with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. As a certified legal intern during her second year with the office, Ms. Towhey conducted preliminary hearings, summary appeals and legal research.
Career
After graduation, Ms. Towhey joined the office as a full-time Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Special Victims and Major Crimes Units. She received the John A. Wagner Memorial Award in 2015. Ms. Towhey is the Drug Prosecution and Diversion Deputy in the Drug and Firearms Unit and currently oversees the Drug Court Program and the District Court Diversion Program (DCDP) for individuals charged with drug possessory offenses.
