A 31-year-old man who brutally murdered his former Wendy’s co-worker last year in Bensalem Township was sentenced on Thursday, June 1, 2023, to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Dominique Isaac Harris, of Philadelphia, was convicted of first-degree murder and possession of an instrument of crime on April 20 following a 4-day trial where jurors heard testimony and viewed evidence that included surveillance footage that captured Harris’s vicious attack on 54-year-old Michael Pickens, a former co-worker at a Wendy’s restaurant in Bensalem.
Prior to sentencing, Pickens’ mother and her husband appeared before Common Pleas Judge Raymond F. McHugh to read a victim impact statement where they described their son as someone who was always there to help others, especially elderly neighbors.
“Not a day goes by that you are not on our minds,” his stepfather said. “In us, you will live forever.”
