Tree Removal Project

project notice

We have put together a list of questions and answers related to the project that you may find helpful.

Why is this necessary?

In recent years, several insect blights have cause major damage to the trees within our park system. In many cases, the affected trees are near public recreation and gathering spaces which present potential hazards.

Who is determining what trees need to be removed?

The County has contracted the services of qualified tree service professionals with the equipment, knowledge, staffing, and skill to assist the County in completing the necessary removal.

At what County Parks will the removal be taking place?

Peace Valley Park, Ringing Rocks Park, Tohickon Valley Park, Tinicum Park, Lake Towhee Park, Churchville Nature Center, Silver Lake Park, Playwicki Park, Delaware Access Park and Core Creek Park.

How will this project impact me as a park visitor?

Park visitors may experience temporary park area closures including trails, parking lots and in rare instances a complete park closure (Lake Towhee). Signage will be present on site and you can contact the parks office if you have questions before planning your park visit that day.

Where can I direct questions regarding the project?

You can connect with us at parksandrecreation@buckscounty.org or 215-757-0571 or DM us on any of our social media platforms.
