Projects & Diversity: 'It all comes down to working for the people'
In the first episode of Bucks County Conversations, we're talking about Bucks County’s mission of diversity and inclusion, as well as one project that’s helping a non-profit serve the community in Lower Bucks.
Bucks County’s Project and Diversity Officer Bernard Griggs joins host Charlotte Reese to explain his fairly new role in county government, discuss his background as a labor leader and talk about some past and upcoming projects.
“When I tie in my experience coming from the union and coming here, it all comes down to working for the people,” Bernard said.
One recently-completed project is the ‘Martha Miller No Longer Bound Education Center’ located in Bristol Township. Bernard and the county oversaw planning and construction on the project before handing the center off to No Longer Bound Prevention and Training Services. No Longer Bound’s Executive Director Pastor James Evans and Prevention Manager Damita Harvey also join us this episode to talk about the community programs and activities they've got planned for the center, and fill us in on the lasting community impacts of the Martha Miller Center's namesake.
“We are excited about this new building and what’s going to happen,” Damita said.
