MAN SENTENCED TO 17 TO 34 YEARS IN STATE PRISON FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF MAN AT BRISTOL TOWNSHIP PARK

A Philadelphia man was sentenced Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, to 17 to 34 years in state prison for the shooting of a man at a Bristol Township basketball park in March 2019. 

Taariq Alfons Norris, 26, pleaded guilty in August to attempted murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, persons not to possess a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, and possession of an instrument of crime. 

He entered the guilty plea midway through his jury trial. 

Common Pleas Judge C. Theodore Fritsch sentenced Norris to 17 to 34 years on the attempted murder charge. He also received concurrent sentences of 5 to 10 years on the conspiracy to commit aggravated assault charge and 6 to 12 years on the persons not to possess a firearm charge.
