New COVID-19 cases in Bucks County are on the decline, while hospitalizations remain steady.

To start off October, the county’s seven-day case average on Friday was 132 cases per day. The previous week’s seven-day average was 152 new cases per day.

From 9/25 to 10/1, at least 925 new cases of COVID were reported. Of those cases, 111 were in residents aged 0-12 and 76 cases were in residents aged 12-18, according to the Bucks County Department of Health

As of Monday, there were at least 66 people being treated for COVID-19 in Bucks County hospitals, the previous week there were 61 COVID hospitalizations. Thirteen residents are in the intensive care unit and two are on ventilators.

There was no change in Bucks County’s COVID-19 test positivity rate of 6.4 percent, as compared to the previous week. The Centers for Disease Control continues to label the county as a “high” transmission level community.

A map of Bucks County shaded different colors to show a 7-day positive COVID-19 test average.

When looking at the beginning of October in 2020, the county was averaging less than 40 cases per day and hospitalizations related to COVID were in the single digits.

Vaccines are still going in peoples’ arms, with 2,087 doses administered last week. About 61 percent of the eligible population (aged 12 and up) are fully vaccinated and 68 percent have received at least one jab.
