Managed Care

The Managed Care Unit (MCU) of the Bucks County Department of Behavioral Health/Developmental Programs is responsible for the implementation and oversight of Behavioral Health HealthChoices, Pennsylvania’s Medicaid managed care program.  The program provides mental health and drug/alcohol treatment services to residents eligible for Medical Assistance (MA).  The Managed Care Unit, though a partnership with Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania, manages the delivery of services to Bucks County eligible members.  The oversight of this program is accomplished through an integrated approach with our Mental Health Unit, Developmental Disabilities and Early Intervention Unit, Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Children & Youth, and other human service offices.
