Suicide Prevention Task Force

The Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force is a committed team of professionals and volunteers dedicated to the mission of ending suicide.

Mission

Through advocacy, education, prevention, intervention, and postvention, we will work to end suicide.

History

In 2013, Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force was sanctioned by the County Commissioners to accomplish specific goals relating to suicide prevention.  The Task Force's goals were and continue to be

  • reduce stigma
  • increase the number of individuals seeking help
  • support individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide
  • decrease suicides in Bucks County

Programs, Events, and More

Through a variety of programs, initiatives, and events the Task Force has brought together a coalition of organizations across the private and public sectors to work toward the Task Force goals.

During the past nine years,  members have led and contributed to efforts throughout Bucks County to educate residents on depression and mental health, reduce the related stigmatizations, encourage seeking assistance, and improve access to services.

Task Force chairs continue to bring together community members, county representatives and behavioral health agency staff who work together on goals established by subcommittees.
