Benefits of Senior Employment
According to the Hudson Institute's Workforce 2000 report, millions of new workers lack the basic skills essential for employment. Mature workers, who have demonstrated these skills over years of successful employment, are a resource many employers may have overlooked. We invite employers to join the many businesses throughout Bucks County that have realized the benefits of hiring mature workers.
Surveys have verified long known facts regarding employment of the mature worker:
- Very Productive: Mature workers have positive work attitudes developed from years of knowing that job satisfaction and pay depend upon performance.
- Dependable: Seniors do not lose as many work days, even for illness, as younger employees. They also report higher levels of job satisfaction.
- Competent: Numerous studies have demonstrated that mental skills and speed actually increase over time, enhancing the ability to adapt to new methods.
- Flexible: With many outside responsibilities completed, mature workers readily accommodate to employer needs.
