- In-Home Support Services
In home support services, also referred to as Personal Care or Home Support, can play critical role in helping an older adult remain at home, living in a community. Trained personal care aides assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLS) such as bathing, hair care, grooming, dressing, toileting, shaving, or feeding. Aides can also assist with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) such as basic housekeeping to ensure safe and sanitary living conditions, laundry, shopping and errands, meal preparation, garbage removal.
Older adults can obtain Personal Care and Home Support services through several means. These services may be privately obtained or may be arranged for and subsidized by the Area Agency on Aging (AAA). To receive these services from the AAA, a person would need to be assessed by a Care Manager to determine the need as part of the OPTION Care Management Program.
