About the Board

Established in 2002, the Bucks County Prison Oversight Board is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Bucks County Correctional Facility and all alternative housing facilities, overseeing the health and safekeeping of inmates, and confirming the Commissioners' selection of the warden.

The Board consists of the following:

  • The Bucks County Commissioners
  • The Bucks County Controller
  • The Bucks County District Attorney
  • The Bucks County Public Defender
  • The Bucks County Sheriff
  • The Chief Probation Officer of the Bucks County Adult Probation Parole Department
  • The President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County
  • Three citizen members (Said citizen members cannot be employees of any state, county or municipal governmental entity and shall be appointed by a majority of the other members of the Oversight Board.)
