Incumbent Worker Training

PA CareerLink LogoIt’s time to upskill your workforce! Through PA CareerLink® Bucks County, the Incumbent Worker Training program offers a subsidy that businesses can use to retain Bucks County employees and enhance their talents.

Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) funds may be used for the cost of providing training, including the cost of developing training or fees for the training program/provider, for a period up to six months. 

Employers are required to share the cost of the IWT based on the size of their workforce as follows: 

50 or fewer employees
At least 10% of the cost
51 - 100 employees
At least 25% of the cost
More than 100 employees
At least 50% of the cost

Who’s eligible?

  • An individual employed full-time (at least 37.5 hours per week) meets Fair Labor Standards Act requirements for an employer-employee relationship and has an established employment history with the employer for six months or more. 
  • Employees must reside in Bucks County if the employer is located outside of Bucks County. 
  • IWT may be offered to workers within or moving to an occupation that currently has, or is projected to have, a number of positions that lead to economic self-sufficiency and opportunities for advancement in an industry sector.
