The Mission of the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA) is to develop, coordinate and promote a continuum of quality services that supports, respects and advocates for older adults and their families; empowers them to maintain independence and dignity; and enhances their overall well-being. Aging services are financed through federal, state and county funds, contributions, and also the PA State Lottery, whose proceeds can only be used to fund programs for older persons. These programs include PACE, Rent and Property Tax rebate, Transportation and other services.
The AAA connects eligible older adults to more than twenty programs and services. These include but are not limited to care management, Medicare counseling, home delivered meals, in-home care, health promotion classes, grocery shopping, legal assistance.
The Agency also investigates elder abuse, neglect, exploitation and abandonment through its Older Adult Protect Services Program.
The Agency houses the Ombudsman Program, which works on behalf of residents in long-term care facilities to ensure the highest quality care.
